
Welcome and Course Overview (Lecture & Discussion)
Target group & participant level
All participants are doctors (ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons or similar), including both very experienced and beginners in eyelid surgery. The course program is designed in such a way that everyone regardless of their level of knowledge - benefits from the intensive hands-on training.
Structure of the course
- Duration: 3 days of 8 hours each (24 hours in total)
- Timing: 3/4 practical exercises (hands-on) and 1/4 theory (lectures, Q&A)
Content:
- Basic surgical techniques (e.g. suturing methods, blepharoplasty)
- Advanced procedures (ptosis, entropion/ectropion, reconstructions)
- Complication management and complex case discussions
- Final competition "Fix the Lid: A Surgical Face Off" on the last dayInteractive course design on human and 3D print models
- Human specimens and diverse and countless 3D-printed models
- Recording of all presentations: The videos and the corresponding presentation slides(PPTs) will be available online afterwards.
- Short surveys (polls) at the beginning/end of the day to ask about wishes, difficulties orpriorities and to adjust the course if necessary.
